From learning piano in childhood, to discovering radio at the age of 16, and later exploring the instinctive art of selecting the right record at the right moment — her journey has been organic, guided by passion rather than plan.
Although she never initially set out to become a DJ, Selecta Alice has become one of the pioneers and driving forces behind the movement of World Music within DJ culture in Portugal.
Her sets travel across continents, with rhythms from Africa, Latin America, the Balkans and India as essential references. Navigating between traditional sounds and their fusion with electronic beats, she crafts a worldbeat experience that pays tribute to musical roots while celebrating life through dance.
