BORIS CHIMP 504

Portugal | Sound Reactive Visual Performance

Boris Chimp 504 is an audiovisual project by Miguel Neto (sound) and Rodrigo Carvalho (visuals and interactive systems).

The project tells the story of Boris 504, a chimpanzee sent to the moon by the Soviets in 1969, who becomes lost in space forever. Since then, he has been travelling through the space-time continuum, crossing different dimensions of the universe.

From this starting point, Miguel Neto and Rodrigo Carvalho have been exploring, since 2010, the relationship between sound and image. Their approach blends techno, psychedelia and noise with real-time audio-reactive visuals, creating an immersive experience.

Strongly influenced by science fiction, the project incorporates references to the latest scientific discoveries, merging reality and fiction into a narrative of its own.
